Able Longtime association leader and consultant Ed Able died Dec. 23 of emphysema. He was 72. Able also had a stroke several years ago. He was president and CEO of the American Association of Museums (now the American Alliance of Museums) from 1986 to 2006, and subsequently was a consultant to nonprofit organizations.
